Western Australia relocation incentive of $10,000 to skilled workers from both Australia and New Zealand within the building & construction industry available January 2025.

Western Australia is strengthening efforts to address the building and construction workforce needs by expanding its Build a Life in WA initiative.

Starting January 2025, the program will extend its $10,000 relocation incentive to skilled workers from both Australia and New Zealand, aiming to strengthen the state’s capacity to meet growing demand in the residential housing sector.

The initiative will offer financial support to skilled tradespeople willing to relocate to WA for eligible roles in the building and construction industry. Qualified workers will receive an initial payment of $5,000 upon securing employment with a WA employer, followed by another $5,000 after completing six months of work.

This incentive is available to Australian citizens and residents, as well as New Zealand citizens eligible for a Special Category visa (Subclass 444) upon their arrival in Australia. Key trades targeted by the program include bricklaying, cabinetmaking, carpentry, electrical work, glazing, plumbing, and tiling.
