Lead Engineer – Business Leader Civil

Opportunity for a proven Principal Civil Engineer to join a reputable engineering company working on exciting Urban Infrastructure projects.

Overseeing the delivery of all projects across WA.
Coordination and management of project resources, both internal and external.
10+ years’ experience in a senior management position.
Our client, a prominent engineering consultancy with a strong national presence, is expanding its operations in Western Australia. They operate in Urban Development, Water Infrastructure, Environmental, and Traffic, positioning themselves for exciting project opportunities.
They are seeking a dynamic Civil Business Lead to drive project execution and effectively coordinate technical personnel.
The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in managing budgets, timelines, and resources to consistently exceed client expectations. With a strong focus on revenue generation and successful project delivery, the Civil Business Lead will also be passionate about optimizing team performance and achieving strategic goals.

Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Enhance systems and processes for improved business efficiency and productivity.
- Monitor project schedules and budgets to ensure timely, budget-compliant delivery.
- Manage and coordinate internal and external project resources effectively.
- Ensure Project Managers complete all activities, including invoicing and forecasting.
- Oversee monthly reporting, including updates in Synergy and progress reports to the COO.
- Contribute to the development of the company’s strategic and operational goals.
- Provide leadership to align technical capabilities with organizational needs, including training.
- Participate in workforce planning to identify future resourcing needs and collaborate with HR.
- Promote knowledge sharing within the team and across the broader organization.
- Ensure compliance with industry best practices and drive innovation in response to market changes.
Skills needed
- Extensive industry experience with a strong or developing background in management roles.
- In-depth knowledge of relevant systems and procedures, along with practical principles and methods.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to motivate and lead a dynamic senior leadership team.
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of business dynamics.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors, and industry peers.
- Excellent time management skills, capable of prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Demonstrates integrity, credibility, and commitment to the organization’s vision and values.
- Adaptable to fast-paced and ambiguous environments, driving clarity and solutions.
- Resourceful in prioritizing and investing in people and systems.
