The federal government has approved the construction of a wind farm off the coast of South West WA.   Energy Minister Chris Bowen announced that the project will proceed however, it will now only cover about 4,000 square kilometers, half the size originally planned. The wind farm is expected to generate up to 11.4 gigawatts of energy, helping meet WA’s future energy needs.  Bowen explained that one wind turbine can produce as much energy as solar panels used all day and can turn up to 15 times per minute. New jobs data from the ABS for March 2023 show WA’s economy remains strong. A record 1.53 million Western Australians were employed in March, including the highest ever level of full-time employment. The strong result has been underpinned by women finding full-time employment growing by more than 10% over the past 12 months – a terrific result. $100M Southern Hemisphere’s Largest Wave Park to generate new local jobs in Perth.

The $100 million proposal includes a surfing lagoon (with over 25 different kinds of waves), a boutique surf hotel, a health and wellness centre, a beach club, restaurants and more – just 20 minutes’ drive from the CBD. Perth to get $4.3b dry dock facility in Henderson defence precinct

The federal government has committed around $4.3 billion for a new dry dock facility in Perth. The project is expected to support 500 jobs during the peak of construction and 2000 when it’s built.
