Major milestone for WA’s EV fast charging network

Western Australia’s Electric Vehicle fast charging network has taken a major step forward with the McGowan Government awarding JET Charge the contract. This is part of the McGowan Government’s $43.5 million investment to boost EV infrastructure around WA. JET Charge will provide 98 EV chargers at 49 locations around the State, creating the World’s longest continuous EV fast-charging network. The first charger is to be installed in November, with the highway to be completed by 2024. $400 million project to redevelop former Perth Girls School is approved by Development WA

The Major East Perth project is to deliver 742 new apartments, including 242 build-to-sell apartments constructed across two 25-storey towers. The remaining 500 apartments will be the largest build-to-rent development in the State, delivered in a 15 to 37-storey development. It will include a significant number of affordable apartments, as well as 100 social housing apartments, and a range of Special Disability Accommodation apartments. The new precinct will also include the refurbishment of the State heritage-listed school building into a creative mixed-use space. Perth set to get the largest Surf Park in the Southern Hemisphere.

The largest surf park in the southern hemisphere with 150-metre-long waves will be built in Perth. There will be a choice in wave size and intensity from small beginner surf to hollow, barreling two-metre advanced waves, with “beast mode” the most challenging and dangerous level. The wave park will also have food outlets, a beach club and an entertainment hub. The Australian Construction Industry Forum (ACIF) has released its Construction Market report saying that it expects the dollar value of construction work to increase by 2.8%, generating over $256 billion of opportunities in 2022/23. Leading the way will be residential and engineering construction, creating an expected additional 35,000 jobs during 2022. Through the 2022-23 State Budget, the Western Australian Government is investing $332 million towards Mid West Ports Authority’s Port Maximisation Project that will enable the Geraldton Port to meet increasing demands for services. Grange Development submits plans for the World’s tallest timber tower in South Perth The world’s tallest $350 million hybrid timber tower with 245 apartments over 48 levels could soon be built in South Perth. Developer, Grange Development wants to build a 183m-high residential building with one, two, three and four-bedroom apartments and a 500sqm rooftop with an edible garden.
