$42M Fitzroy River Bridge begins ahead of Easter, helping to create local jobs.

  Constructed with more than 10,000 tonnes of rock and with steel pipes, the first temporary Fitzroy River causeway with low-level crossing, a five metre-wide 200 metre-long, and single-lane rock, will be open to four-wheel-vehicles on April 3, 2023 at 10 am.   A second temporary crossing suitable for higher traffic volumes and larger vehicles that are expected over the upcoming dry season will soon be constructed and is anticipated to be operation in May 2023 if river conditions continue to recede.   Design work for the new Fitzroy River Bridge is progressing well. $100M Southern Hemisphere’s Largest Wave Park to generate new local jobs in Perth.

The $100 million proposal includes a surfing lagoon (with over 25 different kinds of waves), a boutique surf hotel, a health and wellness centre, a beach club, restaurants and more – just 20 minutes’ drive from the CBD. Western Australia’s Environmental Protection Authority chairman has announced that the surf park project will not be a risk to the local environment and will not require any further assessment. Construction commences on a $45 million grid-scale battery storage system in the NT, generating cost savings of about $9.8 million annually.

The energy storage system, being provided by Swiss-headquartered Hitachi Energy, is expected to be operational in 2023, with battery installation due to commence late this year. The Café and Function centre are the first projects to be delivered under the McGowan Government’s Perth Zoo Master Plan 2040 and are planned to be completed by mid-2023. The proposed Midwest Offshore Wind Farm will have up to 200 turbines and six substations within Commonwealth waters and will be constructed and operated off the coast of Kalbarri, 500km north of Perth. Official designs have been unveiled for a $30 million hotel planned for Middleton Beach, with concept images showing a cascading eight-storey building with sweeping views of Albany’s best known beach.
